But first, before we get into How To Download and Setup PCSX2, let's define PCSX2.
What is PCSX2?
PCSX2 is a free PlayStation 2 emulator that may be downloaded. It allows you to play PlayStation 2 games on your Windows or Linux computer. You can also get it for free and use it as an input device with a controller, keyboard, or mouse.
It is not the only one, but it is the finest because it provides an accurate copy of PS2 graphics as well as incredible speed. It can be used to play some fantastic PS2 games such as Final Fantasy X and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
How To Download and Setup PCSX2?
The directions on "How To Download and Setup PCSX2?" are provided below so that you may easily download and install PCSX2.
1. Go to the official PCSX 2 website and download the installer (the file name should be pcsx2-r5350.exe; if not, simply Google "download pcsx2").
2. When the download is complete, launch the application and proceed through all of the installation windows until you reach the setup window.
3. The recommended emulator settings should be left alone (unless you know what you're doing). If you can't view all of your graphics card's information in the drop down menu next to the PCSX2 logo, click customize and change the display to "Software mode."
4. There are four little buttons next to the PCSX2 logo labeled 'official releases,' 'debug builds,' 'presets,' and'revision history.'
5. Click on the official release button, which is located next to "official releases," to modify the version of PCSX2 that is installed. If you can't find this button, download the most recent version from the official website.
6.Check that your system can support PCSX2 by clicking 'configure' next to the drop down box and then clicking 'Plugins' in the setup window. If it says "GS plugin: No configuration" at the bottom, disregard it because this may be modified later. If it reads "EE/IOP plugin: No configuration" at the bottom, make sure your machine supports PCSX2, and if it doesn't, go back to step 5.
7. Next click ‘CDVD‘ and uncheck all of the boxes on that window and on the next window (Device).
8. The next part can be tricky if you don’t know your system so pay close attention.
9. Select 'ISO Selector' from the CDVD menu, which is located beneath IsoFileManager. Click Browse, then locate and open the file with the name of the ISO you downloaded for your game (there may be other folders with the same name; make sure you can see these files inside them).
10. Once you see your game on the menu, as seen in the image above, ensure that the right ISO Selector options are selected (CDVD plugin). It should read "No Disk" under Mode, and you can choose between "Use CDVDgigaherz" and "Use CDVDlinuz" under CDVDlinuz. If not, ensure that your ISO is correct and that you have the BIOS files available from the official website.
11.Now, on the main emulator window, click System, and make sure to leave all of these settings at their defaults (unless you know what you're doing).
12. Now check System -> Boot CDVD (full).
13. If your game appears on the list, return to the menu next to PCSX2 and select 'Start' from the Config menu. You may alter the resolution after it wakes up by going to Options -> Configure.
14. After making any changes, click 'OK,' and then quit PCSX2 by right-clicking on the window beneath System Information.
15. Now all you need to do is select your game from the list next to PCSX2 logo which can be found on the right hand side of the emulator window.
16. If you can play your game without any issues, that's fantastic; if not, there could be a variety of reasons why.
Ascertain that the BIOS files are in the same location as the Playstation ISO file and that they can all be selected in the PCSX2 BIOS configuration page.
Ensure that your BIOS can play the game and that you can select the appropriate graphics plugins in PCSX2.
17. If none of these suggestions work, consider asking for help on one of the big emulation forums, such as EmuParadise or Reddit.
